Florida, Father's Day and Fireworks

Hello Friends! For those of you who don't know, the Christian Family was lucky enough to take a much needed vacation to Florida. We got to go visit Jeremy's mom and grandparents and really enjoyed some time off! While it wasn't the smartest idea to travel to Florida in June, the heat didn't stop us from having a wonderful time. Isaiah LOVED spending time with his mamaw's and papaw. The first day we were there, Isaiah wouldn't let papaw out of his sight- he had to go everywhere with him- especially when it was time to put water in the fountain! We spent a lot of time letting Isaiah get to know his grandparents. Much to my delight- Isaiah did wonderfully on the airplane and adjusted to sleeping in a strange place without any trouble. He must have felt right at home! We spent a couple of days just relaxing at the house and swimming in the pool. We also took a day to go to Downtown Disney and walk around. While there wasn't much going on at Downtown Disney, it was worth it just to have lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. We all had so much fun watching Isaiah. He loved pointing at all of the animals and saying their names and he didn't get scared at all when it started to "storm." The only bad part was that he was so intrigued by everything that was going on that he simply didn't want to eat anything. Our last big adventure while in Florida was traveling to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. We all had a wonderful time and hated to say goodbye, but we are definately looking forward to our next trip down. In addition to all of the fun, we also ate VERY well! I still can't figure out how she does it, but grandma makes the BEST chocolate malts and she spoiled us with them all week! It took Isaiah a few days to adjust to his papaw and mamaw's not being here. The first day back he was very upset and just kept saying "go back" and "airplane." It broke my heart! Thank goodness we have the technology for Skype and he can still see everyone! Here are a few pics from vacation: Isaiah at the pool in the swimsuit that mamaw bought him. In front of the "monkey" at Rainforest Cafe. Blowing bubbles on the back porch. We went up where you can feed the giraffes so Isaiah could see them up close! He talked about the giraffes and the elephants for the rest of the week! Reading books with mamaw. Waiting for our airplane with mamaw and papaw.
Mommy, Daddy and Isaiah

As I said, it was a wonderful time and we are already planning a trip for next year. Maybe then, we'll tackle Disney! When we got back we started planning for Father's day. I knew we wouldn't be able to do much but I still wanted to make is special for Jeremy. We decided to have a cookout and spend the afternoon with Stephanie, Heath and Finn at a local splash park. It was so nice to get a break from the heat! I think Daddy was having as much fun as the boys! Chocolate covered pretzles for Father's Day. I really wanted Isaiah to see the fireworks this year, but I wasn't sure how he would do since he's normally in bed by eight. We decided to chance it and headed up to Noblesville with Stephanie, Heath, Finn, John, Abby and Reid. Even though it was after 10 by the time the fireworks started, the boys all did great. Isaiah started jumping up and down and shouting "colors" and "boom boom". You would think that going to bed 3 hours later would have meant he would sleep in, but nope! He was up at 6:30 am ready to go! Watching John let off a few fireworks of his own! Here are a few videos from the last couple of weeks. Our little man sure is growing up fast!

He learned how to go down the big slide all by himself! Please ignore my comment about him going "slow." It's just that he was sliding so much faster before I got the camera!

We were listening to the kids station on Pandora and Isaiah really liked this song. Sorry, it's kind of long but it was too funny to cut any of it out.

Our kiddo is learning to count! He has a little trouble with "seven" but I think that's pretty good for a 19 month old!

That's all for now! Thanks for reading!
