Party Time!

Sorry for the late post. I really try to get something up here at least once a week. However... the day I usually take my belly pictures was spent on an airplane. As most of you know, my sister, Stephanie, lives in Seattle and is getting married August 16th. Well, I really wanted to surprise her for her bachelorette party, and with a little help from her fiance, her friends, and her boss- I was able to make it happen. I flew out on Thursday evening and arrived in Seattle around 11:30pm. Heath "got a call from work" and had to leave (that's when he picked me up) He was waiting for me in the airport with a funny cardboard sign that said "Baby Heath" (that's what he has named our little one) On the back of the sign it said "Can I touch your belly?" You should have seen some of the looks we got! I wanted to post a pic of it, but it didn't show up very well. No worries though... it's currently sitting in the crib just waiting for the real thing to show up :-) Anyway- I think Stephanie was pretty surprised, although she had started to put it all together. I had arranged for her to have the next day off of work so that we could spend some time together. We went for a massage and then met up with Heath to run some wedding errands. Now... I HAVE to put this in here! Everybody that claims that Indiana is a hick state- at least we can't get marriage licenses in grocery stores. That's right- here they are!Granted- they still have to send it in to the courthouse, but I thought it was pretty funny! The weekend was filled with a lot of fun and commenced with Stephanie's bachelorette party. We started at her friend's house for some drinks (none for me) and then went to PF Changs for dinner (yummy) The rest of the evening was spent at 88 Keys. It's a dueling piano bar, like Howl at the Moon. We had a really good time! Here are a couple of pics from the evening. Thanks for such a great time!
Lastly- here is one more belly pic. It was taken at 22 weeks and 2 days. There will be another post coming in the next few days.

21 Weeks and counting!

This week has been full of fun! As most of you read in Danielle's blog- we received our purses from the 1154 Lill party. We had such a good time putting the different fabrics together and getting advice frome everyone else. Needless to say, I was soooo excited!! Here is a pic of the purse I designed- it's reversible as well.
Also, we got signed up for our childbirth preparation classes. It's a seven week series, meeting once a week for 3 hours. We have our first class on August 20th. We're looking forward to getting started. And, last but not least...I've FINALLY started feeling some pretty consistant movement this week. It took me a little while to realize that it was the baby, but it was constantly in the same spot. In fact- this morning, Daddy got his first chance at feeling the little one kick. It was a very special moment. We can only feel the baby kick on the sides of my belly, but I'm loving it so far. Here is another picture for you- it was taken at 21 weeks. More to come later!

20 weeks- It's a... Surprise!

Here's my 20 week photo. Sorry for the wet hair- just stepped out of the shower!

Ha ha ha! Obviously we didn't find out the gender of our baby- but I thought a little teaser would be funny. Jeremy and I went in for our ultrasound yesterday and had so much fun. Let me tell you- I thought my bladder was going to explode! It's some kind of torture experiment- You make a pregnant woman drink 32 oz of water an hour before the ultrasound, then expect her to "hold it" for another 30 minutes or so while the spread warm goo all over your belly and press into her abdomen. I've never been so happy to pee! Anyway- the baby looked great. She spent a lot of time looking at specific organs and taking circumferencial measurements. We told the ultrasound tech that we didn't want to know the sex, so she didn't even venture to that area. Apparently, baby Christian is stubborn like his mommy. He/she was lying breach and was lying in such a position that the tech couldn't check the chambers of the heart. Baby was sleeping for the first part of the exam, but woke up about half way through and started kicking. I like to think that he/she was just trying to make sure that we got one more look before delivery- we have another ultrasound next month to check out the heart. We're still measuring right on track- Due on November 27th- Turkey Day!! All of the blood tests that we had at our last appointment came back great ast well. I'm posting a couple of pics from the ultrasound. The first one is a profile shot of the baby. You can see an arm up above it's face and the legs curled up on top of it's belly. If you look really closely you may be able to make out the eyes and nose as well- baby is looking right at you. The second picture is a closer view of baby's face. The eye sockets and nose are quite visible.

And... just for you Mandy- I figured out how to add a poll to the blog. It's on the left hand side. We would love to hear what everyone predicts for our new addition.

Preparing for a baby!

We've officially made it to 19 weeks and the urge to get things ready for our new addition is strong. Jeremy and I have been to Babies R Us so many times in the last week or so, I think they are beginning to recognize us! I find it to be a bit of an overwhelming task- who knew there were somany choices in strollers and furniture. Of course, I finally found something, I like but the store doesn't carry it, "it's an online only item." Jeremy and I are really hoping that we'll be able to get into a house shortly after the baby arrives, but in the event that that doesn't happen the way we would like, we are planning our nursery for the apartment. We've decided to switch rooms- our "spare" bedroom will now become our room and we'll move the nursery into the master. We are hoping the extra closet space that we gain will allow us to get rid of some of our furniture that is now taking up space in the nursery. So... It's time to purge... again!! As you know, our ultrasound takes place this Thursday. I can hardly wait. Even though we are not finding out the gender, I am very excited for the chance to see our baby again. I'll definately post pics and results of that ultrasound! Until then, here's another belly shot taken at 19 weeks. Hey Steph- look closely- you'll see another ghost! :-)
