A little late :-)

Hey guys!
I had planned on posting again on Friday, but it ended up being a really early night for me. It's crazy how much this kiddo zaps my energy. Last weekend we FINALLY got to tell the rest of our friends about our pregnancy- I'm so relieved to have it out in the open. We got to visit with the Kinnucan's and even took Sean swimming- He is getting to be such a big boy (we sure wish they lived closer- baby wants another playmate!!) Mandy was here for a 1154 Lill party which was fabulous- I'll post pics of my purse as soon as it gets here! Now, on to this week...I've recently been asked whether I was starting to feel the baby move yet- I wasn't so sure if that's what I was feeling or not. But, now I'm pretty convinced that our baby is doing gymnastics in there! Just to give you a little info- This past month, our little one grew from approx. 3 1/2 inches to 5 1/2 inches. This month it will gain another 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches in length. He or she also weighs around 6-7 ounces. We get to go in for our "big" ultrasound a week from Friday- so I'll definately post some new pics of our little one. Last night we got to go celebrate the marriage of one of my friends and coworkers. She was a beautiful bride and it was a great wedding! Since blog entries without pictures aren't that exciting- here is a picture of Jeremy and I at the wedding. I put one of me by myself standing by the wall down in the "unflattering belly pics" post for comparision sake. More to come later!

17 weeks

Hello everyone!
I promise I tried to post a picture for last week, but it was saved to the internal memory of my camera and I couldn't upload it. Anyway- I went to the doctor last Friday and everything went really well. After finding the fetal heartbeat (it was 166) the doctor got out the tape measure to see how big my belly was. She was poking around to find the top of my uterus near my belly button and said "hmmm"- she switched positions and moved up about 2 inches higher and said "wow- this baby is definately growing!" It makes me scared I'm gonna give birth to a toddler! (have you seen my husband!) I also had a quad screen that tests for the risks of our baby having down's syndrome and other birth defects- got the news today and it came up negative! Of course, we would have loved our child no matter what, but it's great to know that everything is good so far. We go back in a few more weeks to have our "big" ultrasound and we can't wait. Here is one more belly picture for those of you who like to see them. It was taken at 17 weeks after a long night at the baseball diamond. Sorry- I look kinda scary!

15 weeks!

Only one more week until our next appointment! This pregnancy is moving soooo fast! The last week or two have been really good for me. I am finally feeling a lot better- my "morning" sickness has subsided. I've been pretty tired, and have had a lot of headaches, but I'm beginning to feel normal again. Hooray! I am really looking forward to the next few weeks- the baby can begin to hear, which means that I won't feel quite so crazy when I'm talking to my belly. Also, within the next 3-5 weeks I should be able to start feeling some movement. I can't believe it, I'm just so grateful for this gift! Speaking of gifts... I received my first baby gift from a non-family member yestereday. I was completely surprised- one of our patients brought me a gift bag that contained- 3 baby washcloths, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book, a vibrating rattle which is the very hungry caterpillar and a super cute orange sleeper that has the caterpillar on it and says "but he was still hungry" haha! I'll keep you posted after next week's visit!

Period of rapid growth!

We've reached 14 weeks! Not much has been going on with us (other than the obvious). Things continue to move along well. My pregnancy journal tells me that this month is the period of fastest growth for our little baby. Let's hope so, considering our peanut weighs only about 1 ounce and is approx. 3 1/4 inches long! I have definately been feeling very tired! The "morning" sickness that has been plaguing me for the last 3 months is finally pretty much gone, and I have acutally been able to eat a little more. Because of the problems that we had a few weeks ago, I have been put on restriction- it's a little disappointing because it means no exercise for me, but I'll do whatever it takes to have a healthy baby. I have been diagnosed with a subchorionic hemmorrhage and placenta previa (low lying placenta). It's not anything that we need to worry about yet, but could mean problems if the hemmorrhage continues to get bigger or the placenta stays in a low position. We're praying that both conditions will correct themselves. I see the physician in about 1 1/2 weeks for our 4 month check up! I can't believe how fast this is moving along. Here is another belly picture for you. It was taken at about 14 weeks and 2 days. I also posted it in the "belly pics" thread below since it's easier to compare.

I would also like to give a huge "thank you" to my husband. Jeremy has been absolutely amazing through this entire process! When I'm too tired to move, he lets me nap, when I'm hungry, he makes me dinner, and when the house needs cleaned, he takes care of it. And he does it all without complaing. I am so greatful to him for taking care of both of us. It just goes to remind me what a great dad he is going to be! Thanks babe- I love you!!
