New Nursery Pics

Well, things are really coming along now! Each week that goes by means that we're closer to finally seeing our little one- I CAN'T WAIT!!! It's not that "get this baby out of me" kind of thing, I'm just really excited- nervous, but excited! This past week was pretty cool. I got to spend the beginning of the week finishing up the nursery. The only thing we're really missing is our peanut. Also, Friday, my wonderful coworkers threw Jeremy and I a surprise baby shower. Apparently I made things a bit difficult (I'm kinda hard to keep surprises from) but it was great. They had a nacho bar from Qdoba and cake for lunch and then gave us some fabulous gifts- Since I don't have pics from that, I'll just tell you what we got. We received the last piece of our nursery set (our pop monkey blanket which is sooo soft), a set of bath toys that squirt water, a book (are you my mother), a wonky wiggler (car seat toy), a swaddle me and a very generous gift card to babies r us. They were also really thinking ahead and gave us a giftcard for qdoba so we can stop and get dinner on our way home from the hospital. We were both pleasantly surprised and stunned by the generosity. As far as new things with me... I am pretty sure I have started having some braxton hicks contractions (finally). It's hard for me to tell the difference between that and baby movement! I go in to see Dr. Moon this Friday for the normal checkup and also to see whether I am making any progress toward labor. I can't believe it's getting so close! We have one last baby shower on Wednesday, and I'll be sure to take my camera this time. Jeremy's coworkers wanted to do something special for him- I think it's a great idea! We also have an appointment to get our carseat inspected to make sure it is installed correctly next week. I know it's going to be a busy few weeks and I'm trying to rest as much as possible to conserve my energy for delivery. I realize this post has been kinda long and rambling so I do apologize (it's been a long day and I'm really tired!) Here are some pics for you- my typical belly pic and some shots of the nursery!
Taken at 35 weeks and 3 days!

Sorry that these posted funny- I'm not really sure what happened!

Baby shower!!!

Hello everyone!
This was definately a fun filled and busy weekend. Saturday morning Jeremy and I had our final childbirth education class. It was just the two of us, one other couple and the instructor, so we got a lot of individual attention, and I got a lot of massage ;-) We are certainly feeling more prepared these days. After our class, I got to attend our first baby shower. My friend Hayden, and my mom hosted it and we had a wonderful time. I was so excited to get the chance to visit with some friends and family that I hadn't seen in a while. Jeremy and I were absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity that was shown. We received so many gifts for our little one! In fact, we spent several hours Saturday night and Sunday morning sorting, washing, and organizing everything. It was exhausting, but very worthwile! Here are a couple of pics from the shower:
Our friend Sam made this beautiful blanket for Baby Christian!

My Grandma made this sweater, along with a bunting and a blanket. She's so crafty!

Instead of cake, we had these fabulous little cupcakes. They were made by a local company called "Happiness in a Bite." Hayden had them decorated with monkeys, onsies, and baby feet- too cute!

Here is a group shot.

On Sunday Jeremy and I went and had some maternity photos taken. It was a fun experience and something I didn't know that I would feel comfortable doing. We really wanted to highlight my growing belly, and our little peanut inside. After a couple of hours, we went home with some prints. I took pics of the photos so the quality may not be that great, but you can get an idea. For those of you who don't wish to see my bare belly- look no further!

Also- for comparison sake- here is another belly shot taken at exactly 34 weeks!

6 weeks to go... almost!

We FINALLY got our new camera, so here comes the update. We aren't technically 34 weeks along until Thursday, but I didn't want to wait until then to post. My last doctor's appointment was two weeks ago. Dr. Moon said that everything still looks great- our little peanut's heart rate is 154 beats per minute, and while he/she is still measuring big, the difference isn't quite as large as last time. I actually go back to the doctor tomorrow so, if I need to, I'll post an update . Not a lot has changed since I last posted. The baby is definately getting bigger and sometimes I swear it's trying to get out. Jeremy and I joke that our little one must be having a party in my belly and I swear- at times- he/she is stretching from side to side. If there is a chance, I'll try to get some video posted eventually. According to my pregnancy journal, my amniotic fluid is now at it's maximum and the baby is now resting on the uterine walls instead of floating freely. I can't believe the time is almost here! My 1st baby shower is this weekend and I'm sooo excited! I'll get the chance to see some people that I haven't seen in quite a while. We're still working on finalizing the nursery and getting everything organized. I have been feeling pretty good, just really tired, until this past Saturday. For some strange reason, I felt awful, and ended up vomiting in the evening. I slept most of the day away. I'm not really sure where that came from- all I know is that I felt fine on Sunday. I'm really hoping that I'm not one of those "lucky" women who have "morning sickness" in their third trimester. I suppose that's enough for now. Here is my belly pic for the week- it was taken at 33 weeks and 4 days.

31 weeks

Hey there- I realize I'm really late posting. I literally started crying on Saturday night because my camera finally bit the dust! It won't even turn on so I had to borrow a friend's camera to take this belly pic. Not much has been going on this week- just more preparing for the baby to be. I've recently been getting the hospital bag ready, filling out my paperwork for registration and installing our new carseat. I feel like a real mom now! Everytime I look in the rearview mirror and see that little carseat base- it make me smile the biggest smile. We just can't wait!! This past weekend was Danielle's baby shower- we had a great time! Definately take a look at her blog to see pics from the event. We have baby class tomorrow night and we get to learn all of the "newborn basics." It's definately starting to feel more real. Anyhow, here is the pic- technically taken at 31 weeks and 5 days.

Nursery Pics

Last week was an exciting week. We continued working on the nursery (which is almost finished), had another childbirth class where we learned all about medical interventions including epidurals, and finished with another doctor's appointment. I am happy to say, we got great news a the appt. Baby Christian has turned and is now head down- Let's just hope he/she stays that way. The heartbeat was good and strong - 155 beats per minute and after the belly meausrement I was informed that "this baby is above average" I don't exactly know what that means... aparently I'm measuring a little big now. Our little peanut must have had one heck of a growth spurt in the last couple of weeks. I'm really still enjoying this pregnancy and I feel that I might be a little sad when it's over (at least that's what I'm saying now- ask me again when it's November) Of course, I'll be thrilled to have our little (or big) one home with us. He/She has been moving like crazy lately. I've developed a huge afinity for orange juice and tend to drink it when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Well, one night I woke up at about 2am, stumbled to the bathroom and then made my way to the kitchen to get some OJ. I immediately headed back to bed and apparently our baby decided to have a dance party in my belly. It was the funniest thing- my stomach was shaking like crazy and I felt baby limbs moving all over the place- at one point in time the baby stretched out and made my abdomen football shaped. I couldn't stop laughing!
Anyhow, since I've rambled on forever- here are the pics I promised.

30 weeks and 2 days!

The nursery isn't quite finished, but here are a few pics to keep you interested.

The television has since been moved and we have added the wall decals- Here are a few pictures of the wall decals. This dresser will be used for our changing table as well.

Since we were hoping to move shortly after the baby comes, we decide to go ahead and paint the apartment white- I really wanted to add some interest to the nursery, and that is where the decals came in. I hope you enjoyed the pics. More to come soon!

Really?? I'm gonna be a mom in 11 weeks?

Just a quick post since nothing much has happened since the dreaded glucose tolerance test. We've continued to work on the nursery and it's pretty cute if I do say so myself! I actually took a belly pic on Saturday, but I didn't have a SD card in my camera (oops) so I had to take another one on Sunday. Here you go... I think my belly has grown a bit!

Woo Hoo!!!

Just a really quick update to tell you all that I PASSED my glucose tolerance test and I am negative for Gestational Diabetes! I was really worried about it, so we are both very thankful! The test itself was not so much fun. I got really nauseous after drinking the glucola. It was about 3 times as much as I had to drink the first time. Then, on my last blood draw, my vein collapsed in my left arm, so I had to get stuck for a 5th time. It sucked! But at least we passed!
