31 weeks

Hey there- I realize I'm really late posting. I literally started crying on Saturday night because my camera finally bit the dust! It won't even turn on so I had to borrow a friend's camera to take this belly pic. Not much has been going on this week- just more preparing for the baby to be. I've recently been getting the hospital bag ready, filling out my paperwork for registration and installing our new carseat. I feel like a real mom now! Everytime I look in the rearview mirror and see that little carseat base- it make me smile the biggest smile. We just can't wait!! This past weekend was Danielle's baby shower- we had a great time! Definately take a look at her blog to see pics from the event. We have baby class tomorrow night and we get to learn all of the "newborn basics." It's definately starting to feel more real. Anyhow, here is the pic- technically taken at 31 weeks and 5 days.

Nursery Pics

Last week was an exciting week. We continued working on the nursery (which is almost finished), had another childbirth class where we learned all about medical interventions including epidurals, and finished with another doctor's appointment. I am happy to say, we got great news a the appt. Baby Christian has turned and is now head down- Let's just hope he/she stays that way. The heartbeat was good and strong - 155 beats per minute and after the belly meausrement I was informed that "this baby is above average" I don't exactly know what that means... aparently I'm measuring a little big now. Our little peanut must have had one heck of a growth spurt in the last couple of weeks. I'm really still enjoying this pregnancy and I feel that I might be a little sad when it's over (at least that's what I'm saying now- ask me again when it's November) Of course, I'll be thrilled to have our little (or big) one home with us. He/She has been moving like crazy lately. I've developed a huge afinity for orange juice and tend to drink it when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Well, one night I woke up at about 2am, stumbled to the bathroom and then made my way to the kitchen to get some OJ. I immediately headed back to bed and apparently our baby decided to have a dance party in my belly. It was the funniest thing- my stomach was shaking like crazy and I felt baby limbs moving all over the place- at one point in time the baby stretched out and made my abdomen football shaped. I couldn't stop laughing!
Anyhow, since I've rambled on forever- here are the pics I promised.

30 weeks and 2 days!

The nursery isn't quite finished, but here are a few pics to keep you interested.

The television has since been moved and we have added the wall decals- Here are a few pictures of the wall decals. This dresser will be used for our changing table as well.

Since we were hoping to move shortly after the baby comes, we decide to go ahead and paint the apartment white- I really wanted to add some interest to the nursery, and that is where the decals came in. I hope you enjoyed the pics. More to come soon!

Really?? I'm gonna be a mom in 11 weeks?

Just a quick post since nothing much has happened since the dreaded glucose tolerance test. We've continued to work on the nursery and it's pretty cute if I do say so myself! I actually took a belly pic on Saturday, but I didn't have a SD card in my camera (oops) so I had to take another one on Sunday. Here you go... I think my belly has grown a bit!

Woo Hoo!!!

Just a really quick update to tell you all that I PASSED my glucose tolerance test and I am negative for Gestational Diabetes! I was really worried about it, so we are both very thankful! The test itself was not so much fun. I got really nauseous after drinking the glucola. It was about 3 times as much as I had to drink the first time. Then, on my last blood draw, my vein collapsed in my left arm, so I had to get stuck for a 5th time. It sucked! But at least we passed!

12 weeks to go!

Holy Cow! Time is definately flying by! I've decided that it's time for me to catch up on this blog, so you're gonna get two weeks in one. Last week was pretty uneventful. Between football games, childbirth class, and fantasy football drafts, we were busy pretty much every night. We'll see how Jeremy's team fair this year ;-)
Anyway...Here is the picture from last week. It was taken at 27 weeks and 2 days.

This week was a little more exciting. I had my 28 week check-up with my doctor on Thursday. It was basically a routine visit, except I had my gestational diabetes screen. The appointment went well. The baby's heartbeat was 158 bpm and sounded nice and strong. I'm still measuring right on track for where I should be at 28 weeks. Unfortunately, I got a call on Friday night and was told that I failed the diabetes screen. I have to go back next week for a 3-hour test. I will be fasting when I go in, get my blood drawn, drink the glucola (really sweet, syrup like, fruit punch) and then get my blood drawn again each hour for the next three hours. Doesn't that sound like fun?? I'm really hoping to pass it this time. It would be easier to deal with if there was something that I could do to fix the issue, but I've been told that it's all hormonal and just happens to some women. Here's hoping for a better result this time around!
Now that we've reached the 28 week mark, my doctor visits are now every 2 weeks- I think this is starting to make things a little more real! Here is my picture for this week. It was taken at 28 weeks and two days.
After my doctor's appointment, I decided to do a little shopping. I really wanted to get an outfit to bring the baby home in, and since we don't know the gender, I bought one for each. Luckily, we can return which ever one we don't use. Jeremy and I had gone earlier in the week and he picked out the boy's outfit. When I returned to buy it on Friday, I also picked up a girl's outfit. I'm a little partial, but I think they're super cute!!!

I'll post after my visit this week- Keep praying for good test results!

I think I've outgrown my jersey!

I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things again. My camera is really on the fritz and I happened to get it to turn on on Sunday, right before the Colts game. I decided to take my belly pic for the week while it was working. Here ya go!
26 weeks and 3 days. I don't know if this thing is gonna make it until the end of the season!

I didn't get the chance to post about this last week, but Jeremy and I had our 1st Childbirth Prep class. It was a lot of fun, definately better than we expected. We have another one tonight where we get to learn massage techniques- I'm sooo excited! Hopefully I'll get a nice back rub out of it :-) I've been doing some research on fetal positioning and belly mapping lately. I really want this baby to turn, but I'm pretty sure he/she is still breach. I'll let you know after my appointment next Thursday if I am right. This is also the appointment where they do the test for gestational diabetes- so please say an extra prayer that all turns out well. I REALLY don't want to go on a special diet for that!

On a side note, my newly married sis and brother-in-law made it back from their honeymoon in Mexico. I'm sure they had a fabulous time, but I'm glad they are back in the country and I can't wait to see them again in November!

If my camera works tomorrow, I'll get another post up- I realize I'm about a week behind. OOPS!

Lastly- for those of you who don't know- one of Jeremy's friends was involved in a bad accident. He is recovering now, but he'll take all the prayers he can get. If you would like to you can take a minute to view his blog. www.caringbridge.org/visit/rdreid

More later!

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Hilton!

Hello everyone! As I told you before, this post was going to be delayed because we were attending my sister's wedding in Seattle. Let me first say that it was wonderful. Stephanie looked beautiful (eventhough we were rushing around all day and it was 94 degrees outside). You could really see the love between the two of them. Heath was grinning from ear to ear (something I'm told he does when he gets nervous) My camera crapped out right after the ceremony, so I didn't get any pictures. I stole my mom's photos for this blog post. The best one that I could find of the two of them together is below. It was right before the cake cutting.
Although there were some traveling mishaps (got stuck in Denver overnight) we made it there in plenty of time and had so much fun spending time together. It made for a packed week for sure. I was sad to see my sister and new brother go to the hotel afterwards. I miss them already and am sooo looking forward to seeing them again- hopefully it will be soon! I love you both more than you can imagine- and your little niece or nephew does too! Anyway, I can't wait til they get back and I can hear all about their vacation-I'm seriously jealous! Here is a quick pick of Jeremy and I on the boat- if you look closely you can see the space needle behind us. For some reason when these picture get uploaded to the blog- it gives me a lazy eye! It goes away if you click on the photo.
And here is one more belly pic of me. It was taken on Saturday at 25 weeks and 2 days. I didn't really get ahold of my dress very well, but you get the idea.
